I am a dried-up worm after a night's rainfall...

My gosh, It's the end of January already?!?!?!? Where HAS the time gone?!? So I think I may have finally recovered from my hectic travel / b-day extravaganza, he he he. I wasn't too bad on Sunday...but I was hella sore the next day, and I've been waking up really late every day this week for work, except for today. So I think I'm at full recovery now, he he he. WIth that said, it was definitely a blast......just look at the pictures...he he he I can't remember everything that happened...but here are some highlights(some of which were told to me, he he he):
-making everyone sing happy b-day to me(now narcissistic is that?!?)
-being really bossy and mean to my boy averell
-fighting w/ jos when I was looking for something underthe table
-clutching onto the table for about 30 minutes and then drinking again after
-ripping, not one, not two, but THREE shirts...(Ray said it was one for every decade I was alive)
-slip and sliding on the concrete outside of Mai Tai w/ my shirt off...(I felt the hurt from that one on Monday)
So thanks to all who made it a most-memorable dirty 30. You guys rock!!!!

Before I got home for the weekend of my party, I was out in Detroit for work. I was there for the NAIAS(North American International Auto Show) and to visit our Detroit office as well. It was okay, very casual and chill business trip...but it was HELLA cold out there. With the wind chill it was minus-5 at one point when I was smoking outside. Wowoweee. But the highlight of my trip was not only my ninong and ninang celebrating my b-day w/ me(referenced in previous entry), but it was visiting our old house!!!

How about a little before shot...

Here's a pic of an old pic of Jos in front of the old place...look at the address, and more importantly, that lamp...

So on a test drive, I entered out old address as one of our destinations...and once we got near, I whipped out the memory capturing device and started shooting away

Dearborn!!!!

Here is the street we lived on...

It's still crooked!!!! Wait, here's a better one...

I don't think anyone was home, but it would've been really cool to step inside and see if it was what i really remembered :)

I love the eclecticness of my itunes library, ha ha ha

I am a basket of warm fuzzies...

Yes, I know, sounds totally girly to say something like that...but I couldn't find a better description. And I don't care anyway. Today is my 30th b-day, I can say whatever I wanna say. =p

So yeah, today was a good day, except that the Lakers lost, but hey, you can't win them all, right? Anyway, after a full day at the North American International Auto Show(pics to come later), I got back to the hotel to find this...

I don't know how you did it roomie, but you found where I was staying at, and I have to say it brought a huge smile to my face! THANKS SO MUCH! And thank you to ALL of you who have sent me all the texts, voicemails, e-mails with such warm birthday greetings. I have never felt so loved...esp when I'm out here in Detroit. I didn't celebrate totally alone though; I actually had dinner at my ninong and ninang's house in Canton, Michigan. They cooked dinner for me and had a cake and EVERYTHING! Even gave me a Detroit Pistons sweatshirt, which I totally loved!

Look at all the good food...

I even got a cake!!!

One really cool thing I got to do on my b-day was go to our old house in Taylor Michigan. So just to clarify things, I was born in Dearborn, Michigan...hence the name...but we lived in Taylor, Michigan. I could only take a picture in front of the old place cuz it was too snowy and too dark to see all the streets. But I'ma try to go back tomorrow and take some more pics.

So again, a very happy b-day it was....thanks to all of my family and friends! I am so blessed to have you in my life and grateful for your love!!!

I am the on-going path....

Man, what a day...starting to get a little busier and I can see the tasks piling up on my plate. I foresee a little stress, he he he. That's what I get for procrastinatin though, so no complaints.

Laker update - haven't done one of these all season I think. Lakers have been on a role...6 wins in a row, longest winstreak since '04...and are 25 - 11. And BAMN, Bynum gets injured. MRI results just came in...knee cap injury - out minimum 8 wks. Okay team, its' time to show our depth, and Kwame, gotta play for that contract baby...come on!!!! This is the time we'll see the Lakers' true heart....

Holy crap, I forgot to post this a long time ago; check this out. Simply one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. There is absolutely no limit to what we can do as people man, there really isn't.

BUT sometimes there IS a limit, and that limit is implemented by society. The guy's name is Oscar Pistorius and he's a double amputee track athlete. I'd heard about him before while checking some track stuff(I'm little bit of a track afficionado, I guess you can say), but I had only heard that he was a double amputee and everyone called him "Blade Runner." But the reason I bring him back up is because I was listening to Jim Rome earlier this morning and they were talking about how they won't let him compete in the Olympics. Apparently, the IAAF (International Association of Athletic Federations) says he has an unfair advantage. Actually, the rule is that you cannot use any device that incorporates springs or other elements that provides an advantage over an athlete NOT using the device. W.....T.....F!?!??! How can you actually think that the double-amputee has a frickin advantage over a full-bodied professional track athlete? Sometimes, I really am disappointed with our society....

I am the oscilloscope's on screen depiction...

So that last post was a little harsh...Hate is a strong word. And it's only the flight out to Vegas from LAX I have problems with all the time, well 2 for 2 that is. The flight back was fine. It was a good trip...glad I got to go and see the show, and talk to some people, he he he. Pictures to come after I organize them and write my report, he he he. Man, I'm scheduled to travel a lot over the next two months. Vegas just this past week, then Tahoe next weekend, and straight to Detroit. Vegas again about a week after and then I have to go to the east coast, on two separate occasions. Once to NYC / Boston and also to DC, not to mention a couple trips to San Jo for some mtgs. I remember when I had to hella travel when I first started workin here, and I started to hate it after a little while...just too much laundry to do afterward and the travel would just take me too much out of my routine. Travelling for pleasure's one thing...but for business? That's it's own lil world.

Oh yeah, I never posted this set...it's the bubs' track meets. If you look at the set, there's this lil boy that's 5 years old and had to run the 800m against all older kids. He was a warrior man, I'd want my son to be like that...

Damn, I just popped a zit on the side of my face...and it hurts...and now it's bleeding, frickin grreat.

Here's a tribute vid to our mammoth trip back in 06....those were the days...the days I last snowboarded. And here's to Tahoe next week baby!!!

Aw man, I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait!!!

I am one too many steps...

Viva Las Vegas!

There's a reason why I hate southwest airlines. Two times in a row my flight to vegas was delayed. Last time it was delayed a lot longer, like 3 hours, but there were 4 of us hangin out and drinkin. That's not so fun when you're by yourself. But I was in good company :) But yeah, the trip out here last night sucked ass. Not only was the flight delayed 1 1/2 hours, but it took over half an hour for our checked bags to get to the carousel...and the cab queue? Duuuude, HELLA LONG. I waited in line for like 50 minutes for a cab. I was gonna get a rental, but I was so damn tired. Oh yeah, when I was eating at the sports bar watching the laker game since the flight got delayed, I met a King of the Cage fighter...Dominic somethin...crazy dude. He was hella cool though, we were just chattin about life and all things fighting, he he he. One thing I absolutely love about the airport...is the diversity. EVERYONE goes to the airport...so you have the chance to run into practically anybody. So cool.

Anyway, day one of CES was cool. Walked the show w/ the work peeps, took pictures of all the products, got to see some cool new upcoming stuff, saw hot chicks(they use models to attract people to their booths), and even met Funkmaster Flex, he he he. My feet hurt from walkin so much.

Dinner time...to be continued...

I am number one...

Happy New Year!!!!

Man, what a year-end celebration. James had a house party in Long Beach and I got to ring in the new year together with a bunch of old friends, and some new ones as well. We played rock band, sing star, danced in the garage, and of course...drank. He he he, and yes, I got totally hammered...so bad in fact that the night is kindof in bits and pieces. Apparently, I did a little bit of drunk dialing and called a bunch of people. Unfortunately, I dont' remember what I talked to them about. I think i was still drunk when I woke up this morning, he he he. I was a little on the fence about going out at all; I was feeling so lazy and I just didn't want to get up. Anyway, it was a grand celebration and I'm glad i went. I've had a very relaxing day. Just chilled out and watched tv mostly. Later on, I visited the Lapazes for a bit and then picked up a friend from the airpeezy. Oh yeah, I cleaned my room a bit. Wanted to clean the bathroom too, but I never got around to it. It took long enough to clean the room. And it's not because there was that much to clean to begin with, it was because I kept falling asleep everytime I'd take a break in the living room and watching TV. Bathroom sometime later this week i guess.

So here's to a new year...2008. I have to admit, I was glad to be rid of 2007. It was definitely one of the worst years I've ever had in my life...and for a lot of my loved ones as well. As much as I could, I'm not gonna sit here and list all of those bad and unfortunate incidents, but for everything bad that happened, i can probably name 10 good things that did happen. It's simply astounding that the bad things can really cast a big huge shadow over the positive events and occurrences over the course of last year. Just gotta focus on the good rather than the bad. But it's great to have a "new slate" to start from. I listed a bunch of resolutions in my journal, so I'll keep track of them there. Instead of listing them now, i decided to just keep track of them throughout the year and then see how well I kept up w/ those resolutions and make my report before '09 rings in. Not a lot of big time changes though, just little things to improve myself overall. Well, maybe one big thing, but I'm keeping that one under wraps for the meantime.

I'm tired...gonna watch some tv and try to hit the sac early for a change...
